Massive Headaches

Butch was diagnosed, from University Hospital in Salt Lake City, with Sarcoidosis. According to LungUSA.org, “The disease is characterized by the presence of granulomas, small areas of inflamed cells. They can be either inside the body or on the body’s exterior, appearing as sores on the face or shins. But sarcoidosis is most frequently found in the lungs.” They did a scope on his lungs and found these sores all inside his lungs.

So Butch had been coughing a TON; that’s how he originally discovered this problem. Well, they gave him antibiotics and an inhaler with steroids to help the cough. It seemed to go away after about two weeks. So he thought he was in the clear.

One month ago he QUIT SMOKING!!!

The coughing came back after about a week or so of quitting and he went to a doctor’s office in Wendover to be checked out and get some relief. They gave him antibiotics called Doxycycline. Ever since he’s stopped taking those pills, he has the WORST headaches!! He says it’s like hitting a blood vessel in his brain and the pain is all over his head. It starts from the back and continues up and around his head to the front. These headaches are CONSTANT. They never seem to go away. He takes medicine for them, like Excedrin Migraine, but they don’t seem to touch them, or they only take away the pain for about 4 hours.

Yes there was a lot of background to catch up on. Sorry for the long story just to update about headaches. But there you go. There’s an update.
